Mentoring
This involves an individual mentor meeting with the young person at a time agreed with their carer(s) once a month for about an hour. Training is given to structure these meetings. This is a key part of the scheme. Mentored children consistently do better than any others.
The Skills Guild
Thu: 6.00- 7.30pm
Our weekly training workshops involve half termly blocks of skills training facilitated by volunteers. It is also a chance to develop social and practical skills as well as a positive worldview informed by Christian values.
Family Support Network
Parental involvement in a child’s education and nurture is a crucial ingredient to success. Training and educating our young leaders is not something we do for parents but with them. As a result parents are expected to attend termly celebration dinners and to be actively involved in the work of the academy.
